As we closed 2020, the International Association of Baggage System Companies experienced many new and challenging circumstances. Our entire method of gathering together for educational purposes and networking was disrupted by the pandemic, reflective of the changes in society and business. We all have had to learn new ways to communicate and transact business.

 

Prior to 2020, the IABSC always held meetings in person at a rented facility. We have not had to bear those expenses for several planned months in 2020. The association plans to continue virtual meetings through July 2021. Effectively, we have been able to reduce cost incurred to the association during the pandemic.

 

As a result of these changes, the Board of Directors announced at our 2020 Annual Meeting that membership rates will be reduced by 25% during 2021. This reduction will take effect for existing members on their 2021 renewal, at anytime during the year.

 

This is also a great opportunity to introduce new entities to the IABSC. Getting familiar with the association’s educational efforts, our network of people, and sharing our goals and objectives has been beneficial. Evidence of this can be found on our Why You Should Join page. New members also can take advantage of the reduced membership rates.
