The International Association of Baggage Handling Companies held its 2nd in-person meeting Friday, September 10th, in Dallas, TX. With numerous industry-leading Companies in attendance, it was valuable to network and receive updates on where the industry is going and what’s available today. Additionally, 14 OEM vendors showcased products in various areas of the Baggage Industry. Habasit was present along with their trailer showcasing the many components available and new technologies to streamline installations. They even raffled gift cards to those who toured their display.
T.J. Shultz, President of ACC, presented a plethora of information around the “State of the Industry” and how the recovery is shaping out. T.J. summarized specific projects paused at the start of COVID that are now starting to kick back up. He continued to describe Congressional Bills around infrastructure, and what agency controls will control the funding for Airport Improvements. In addition to T.J.’s information, the audience heard from 4 OEM companies showcasing their new Technologies ready for market.
Audience members also heard updates for the Young Professionals, Innovation and Technology, and Government committees with IABSC on future and upcoming mini sessions.
Over 2 hours of networking time was available with attendees previewing all the vendor tables driving dialogue about industry trends and future focus. It was also a great time to catch up with colleagues throughout the country.
