Big ideas don’t always need big stages. Sometimes the most impactful conversations happen in smaller rooms, where the people closest to the challenges roll up their sleeves and start solving them together. That’s the spirit behind the 2025 IABSC Technology Mini-Summit.
Taking place on Wednesday, August 27, at Rockwell Automation Headquarters in Milwaukee, this year’s Mini-Summit is focused on a timely theme: Future-Ready Baggage Systems. The goal? To dig into what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to evolve across today’s airport environments.
“Our team at Rockwell is very happy to host the 2025 IABSC Technology Mini-Summit,” says Terry Gallagher, IABSC board member and Rockwell’s airport account manager.
“In addition to a great networking conference, there will be a tour of the new innovations and technologies at the Rockwell Lab—and, of course, the clock tower.”
While the Rockwell campus and its famous timepiece offer a memorable setting, the day’s agenda is built around substance. This is not just about future thinking, it’s about tackling current, shared challenges head-on.
“We’re planning a focused discussion of today’s most pressing challenges when delivering and operating baggage systems,” says Mary Lang, Chair of the IABSC Technology and Innovation Committee. “From innovation and stakeholder collaboration to cybersecurity and performance metrics—this is about sharing what’s working and finding new ways to adapt.”
Unlike a large-scale conference, the Mini-Summit is designed for hands-on learning, honest dialogue, and practical takeaways. Attendees can expect targeted sessions, thought-provoking insights from industry leaders, and the opportunity to see how new technologies are being applied on the ground at Rockwell’s labs.
It’s also a chance to strengthen relationships within the IABSC community. Whether you’re an operator, engineer, integrator, or consultant, the event is structured to support meaningful connections and peer learning.
“It’s a beautiful time of year in Milwaukee,” adds Gallagher. “We’re looking forward to a great event and seeing you all there.”
